2458“I heard this line in college before I even realised I could become a writer, a travel journalist, by profession,” says Carlo in his audio commentary.

”I didn’t know what to do in my younger years in university. I was a music lover so I went to a lot of concerts. I discovered a really amazing band called Up Dharma Down and eventually I became friends with the vocalist. This quote is from one of their songs.

”This line shocked me because it made me realise to not take things seriously and that I want to explore more of the world. Not only abroad but even as simple as being a traveller in your own neighbourhood.

“That’s when I started to become interested in writing about lives in Manila and lifestyles that I come across in everyday life, either living here or travelling elsewhere.”
