1498This is the marvellous Elissa, who whipped up some SOTM action for me in Washington DC during a brief stay there. She was told this by someone she used to see, but it was said at a time when the relationship “was falling apart”.

She adds in her audio clip that: “At the time I took it as an amazing compliment, but then as the relationship imploded I realised it was much more about me serving his goals and desires, and that I needed to serve my own, that I needed to create my own art instead of building up someone else’s.”
