Of his story, he says: “So I was living in China and when I was there, I met a girl. She was very nice. And then I went back to England and she went back to Australia, where she lived.

”A while later she came back to the UK to visit, she met all the family and everyone thought she was great. She met my grandma, my mum’s mum, and after she’d gone away my gran turned to me and said this.

“Unfortunately my grandma died, but at our wedding I recounted this tale in my speech, and it got a very good laugh.”
