You're Like The Best Friend I Wish I Never Needed

1382This week will see a series of SOTM images submitted by charities around the UK. This is to mark Small Charities Week, organised in London by the FSI.

This excellent organisation helps small charities get their voices heard and, to aid them in their quest, has organised Small Charities Week which is running from now until Friday This sees a series of events being held which will showcase some of the small but very important charities in the UK.

So, to kick us off we have Tina Thake from London. She is a house manager at The Sick Children's Trust, which provides free, high-quality “home from home” accommodation for families whose children are seriously ill in hospital.

The charity wrote: “Tina is renowned for her cheeky smile and putting the families at ease when they first come to the house. They are often enduring a very stressful time with their child sick in hospital, far away from the security of their home and as well as practical advice, house managers like Tina provide a shoulder to cry on and often become like extended family members to the people staying at the houses.”

"Tina truly is a lovely lady who works very hard to provide a home from home. Having stayed at her house I know what a ray of sunshine she is in a rather stressful time. Support The Sick Childrens Trust"
