2413“When I was growing up my grandmother was a very beautiful and talented woman, a charm school matron,” says Tallulah, a burlesque performer, in her audio clip.

”As a burlesque performer, a lot of my character and style comes from her. This is something she would always tell me. Hearing that when growing up, it was normal for me.

”It wasn’t something that was vain, it was just how beauty was something to be appreciated and to be proud of who you were, to show what you had and enhance your looks.”
