554Sent in via the SOTM Flickr page by the subject, Gerald Belton, who wrote: “Someone once told me, "There is a God, and it's not me." It took me a while to realize that I had lived much of my life as if I thought I was God.

"I wanted to be in control of everything and everyone. When I inevitably failed at that impossible task, I blamed myself for not being able to fix my own problems and everyone else's, too.

"Now I'm content to just be me, with all my faults, and let God be God. I don't have to fix the world's problems, I can leave that for G/www.flickr.com/photos/geraldbelton/
