2014“I was on holiday and I had the opportunity to get into a tank with some sharks,” he explains in his audio clip. “There were a couple of pregnant females and a male. We were asked not to corner any of the sharks, as the male was quite territorial.”

Unfortunately, our subject found himself in a position where one of the females was indeed cornered. “Before I knew it, I got a bump on the butt from the male shark. He started swimming very closely towards me."

Such threatening behaviour by the shark prompted one of the aquarium staff to shout out these words. “Tommy being the name of the shark,” our subject explains. “It swum across my legs like how a cat might rub up against you. It very quickly turned its head and gave me a quick nip. It left two teeth in my leg and gave me my scar for that holiday.

”My wife finds it very funny that every time we go away I always end up getting bit by some form of wildlife. That was that holiday taken care of.” Taken in New Malden, London, UK.
