2320“When my daughter was about two-and-three-quarters, as children like to say, we were living in Glasgow,” James says in his audio commentary.

”We were in the back of the house. I have a very strong visual memory of this. Me and my then-wife and mother of my daughter were having a little tête-à-tête in the kitchen.

”We were just rammying away, as they say in Glasgow, about something inconsequential. Our voices got raised, and then all of a sudden, as we were standing there facing off with each other, this little person came up and stood right at our feet.

”Arms down by her side, looking up and she said this. We both looked at her in astonishment, and looked at each other, and probably both had the same thought to ourselves, that this was a bit embarrassing, and we’d just been taught a very interesting lesson by our daughter.

”That was one of the first moments of the absolute end of the marriage. But Libby, our daughter, we both have a very strong, happy amazing relationship with her.

”It’s not really a downer story, it’s more a story that ultimately was for the good and benefit of us, to see ourselves better.”
