1282 Penny Syson sent this image in via the SOTM Flickr group. She wrote: “It was taken at about 1AM on my bedroom floor (Thorne, Doncaster, UK) where all the prospectuses for seemingly thousands of universties were scattered, alongside my psychology homework and classwork.

“It wasn't these words exactly but it was the meaning behind them. It was one of the early days in Year 13 when our year was all panicking about choosing a university, applying and being accepted etc. There was just so much choice and they were all so different and appealing.

"I'm a shy person, so the prospect of leaving home and meeting new people really terrifies me... but I knew it had to happen and I had to get a grip which really did fill me with fear. It was a part of 'growing up'... and it was scary.”
