2317“Seven years ago I lost my best friend in the war in Lebanon,” Dvir says in his audio clip. “He was called to serve in the military reserve. A missile hit his infantry company right in the middle.

”I went through pretty much hell. I went through a process of rehabilitation, going back to life. After that we had a show – I’m a musician – and I wanted to dedicate one song to this guy.

”The thing is, I was sitting there on stage, and I couldn’t sing. I was crying like a baby in front of all these people in the audience. There was a very weird silence, because usually an audience is a happy thing. It was kind of embarrassing, because no one knew what to do with themselves.

”Then my friend came, he played in the band, he whispers this in my ear so nobody else can hear. This sentence changed my perspective, so I went offstage, I washed my face, I wiped my tears and I went back onstage and sang for my friend. It’s like an ancient prayer. So I sang it like I never sang it before. It was a very big moment in my life.”
